Its success includes helping its members achieve quality awards with most health plans, maintain the highest patient satisfaction in the state while consistently demonstrating financial value to participating clinics.
 
Challenge
Triium had an old technology platform that was very unreliable. They were faced with a decision to make a network upgrade refresh at a significant cost. They also had found themselves dependent on the network engineer, which changed over time. They have nine employees that all require access from the office and remotely. The other challenge they had was outsourcing their IT network support, because it was such an unpredictable expense for them. They really wanted to be able to budget their IT network costs.
 
Solution
After evaluating a network upgrade refresh versus application hosting Triium made the decision to implement application hosting through Solbrekk and their partner Netgain Technology. They cutover to application hosting in October of 2005. They wanted to have current technology with Netgain rather than waiting for a network upgrade refresh every four years.
 
Being in the medical field, HIPPA compliance was a significant factor for Triium. By moving their network infrastructure and data to a HIPPA compliant data center they were able to address a key HIPPA compliance issue very cost effectively. Benefits & Results
They have now had over one year to evaluate the results of their decision to utilize application hosting. They have found that they really have saved money in addition to being able to budget their IT network expenses. They have found that they get much quicker resolution and quicker turn-around utilizing the Netgain Technology help-desk instead of contacting a network service provider. Their daily back-ups are now done accurately and timely and there are no hassles with tape back-ups. Kent Madsen stated, “The conversion and cutover effort was the most painless I have ever experienced. Netgain and Solbrekk have a very structured process and expectations were managed well. The result is that we have had minimal issues and no significant down-time.”
